Lake Waramaug Litchfield County, CT – Circa January, 2004
I recently stumbled on this old photo. When I was in college in CT I worked nights a liquor store. One of the regulars always bragged about the monster trout he’d catch through the ice up in the northern part of the state. So, one Saturday morning I took him up on the offer to come along. We fished in sub zero weather using a manual auger, tip-ups, and live shiners. I caught a nice 18″ Brown. I need to make an effort to get out on the ice more next season.
I use to be a loyal bass fisherman but now I could care less! Give me a 30″ jig stick and a hole in ice over weeds fishing for bluegills and I am as happy as ever!
